Trying to see what source book matches the figures we have

Have glued some of the US airbourne to bases today.

Still playing around with arrangements on others to get the optimum field of figures and bases.
Will probably reduce some stands to three figs instead of four.. but they look fine.
Still frustrating between the army lists in “Road to Rome”(RR), “Hells Highway”(HH), Market Garden (MG), Nuts (NN)
HH has two artillery batteries in the 75mm pak howitzers but RR doesn’t
RR has 4 shermans with improvised armour but the combat platoons are reduced to 6 teams instead of 9.. and it has two command teams per platoon not one.
Problem is the US airbourne have really different options throughout the books.. subtle but massively game changing.
The HH list has no US armour.. only UK armour support from 30th Corp.
Funny thing is there is a ten points difference between the two books for the same list.
I use 82nd airbourne whenever I can .. I just think there cool and a I new someone who was all about the eagle being the best and I don’t like that.. plus the eagles were the get out of jail card
for the heros in the LOTR all the time .. so anti that! besides All American …. F$^&* yeah! lol

So if there was anything extra needed I would say… 1-2 carbine command teams. 1x60mm mortar team .. and that would allow you to make any of the following lists. Oh bazookas always help.. get some of those too.

Although the “Nuts”source book gives the best list to match MP’s kit because it includes the improvised armour on the tanks..
Plus I have an extra command carbine team so can split 3 teams from the original 9 team platoons and make a third platoon of 6 teams.
But am missing a 60mm mortar which I could proxy one in from the marines to look ok.
Plus it recognises the tanks as M4A3’s late.. which they are. see here http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=813
The difference is the Detroits finest and tank telephone rules … which I forget what they do… ????
Added bonus is the points which rounds out just under 2000 points shy by 55 points. What you could get for the 55 points.. maybe some more Bazookas?

Unfortunately I haven’t found a case where you can field M5 Stuarts and M4A3 Sherman’s, they all seem to occupy the same support slot. But if you take Stuarts you can probably take airsupport as well to make up the points difference.

Funniest thing about the Nuts source book profile is it has no Bazookas in the HQ

  1. Meh US airborne, they make me yawn. Where are the photos, I want to see photos, besides the lists change from year to year, book to book, so I’m sure if you just wait a little things will come full circle.

  2. I would post pictures but all my AA rechargeable batteries are getting old. And when I use them in my camera it says to change the batteries because there putting out 1.2 volts anymore.

I could use my phone camera but it doesn’t have micro focus, so not so good looking.

My new ultrasconic cleaner arrived from China today… cleans my glasses very well. cost about $30 all up and it will work very well to clean minis before painting them. Possibly even for stripping paint.

  3. Try using the two batteries from RR. ….badoom cha!
An ultrasonic cleaner you say? Ok now you have my interest. Bring it round and we’ll clean the turtle tank
