Firestorm competition – Operation Market Garden

Are we keen to run through this campaign?  Play over the course of a year or organise a big weekend?

  1. I’m keen, don’t mind how it’s organized really but I’m not painting up all those bloody fallschirmjager for fun.

  2. Firestorm is very interesting in the way it plays through. I had always had a the problem of how to play the game properly when not many people can be near enough to play every week. I think the Operation Overlord platform more than satisfys that void in the participation aspect.
So we can play this through for so many years and then sneak in some table top games on occasion.

It brings in Europa modified forWWII plan/idea I had and gives it a nudge to the full playing experience and downgrades the strategic platform to a board game…. flipping the whole percived technology balance on it’s head. Wonderfull!

Lets all talk details…. First up.. no limits to what axis/allied slots you can play.

  3. OMG….. shall I hold your hand soldier?
of course not.. now just climb up and over the trench wall.. and keep walking…

  4. yeah thanks
bet you would be the type to send me into the teeth of an enemy machine gun, you big meanie

  5. Ummm… how do I say this?

In order to make sure that Firestorm Units can be represented in future.. I have bought two more Panther tanks. New ones. The are also D variants which are the early version. But I don’t care. When I get my compressor and everything here in Queenstown I will repait/paint these in three tone cammo, and like my 24 Pz IV’s will finish them.

Also ther is a two Elephants too.

    What we need are:

    FJ – done
    UK/ polish airbourne –
Pz Grendaier – armoured half tracks. – done mostly as MP has those.
    5.5″ artillery – Could proxy my 15cm SFH18’s
    King tiger II – anyone?
Tiger I – ME has 2 and ML has 2, does MP have one?
    Typhoons – ML
    Security police – ???

  6. I’ve always liked the idea of the red devils myself but frankly knee deep as I am in FJ at the moment the thought of having to paint more 15mm little buggers (in camo no less) makes me feel quite twitchy.
I’d happily get a King Tiger or two though 😈

  7. Michael said: As for the content, yeah they’re really mongrelly looking paint jobs. 🙂 I can see how you wouldn’t have any compulsion against drowning them in simple green. Still nice models. I love panthers and elephants/ferdinands ever since I was a wee fella.

Well in that case I will break out my white gel pen when at the decal stage and write the following across the side top hull of the tank on both sides.
Blitz Wut (Lightning fury) just for you.

The other Elephant I will name “ Marz Ultor” Mars god of war, meaning Avenger, in recognition of his victory over Caesar’s assassins. The Hero who kills assassins.. like IS2’s and Sherman VC.

I have 5 Panthers… so any other names you may think of?

  8. Russians, lovely. A new opponent for my German Fallschirmjager. We should only be outnumbered what 100 to 1.
You’ll be putting up photos of your painting?
