The Ork Nobz from the assault on black reach that I’ve been painting for my son. The photos don’t really do them justice, probably should retake them but can’t really be bothered. Day was very overcast and I didn’t use any other light source which meant a lot of editing to make them half pie decent. Also the bases aren’t really finished only have green grass for flock and that doesn’t quite seem appropriate will work on that later.

Now I just noticed that if I was a 12 YO and I was painting thee I would have fallen in to that stupid trap of smearing all the chain axes with very bright red “supposedly ” human blood.
I noticed this with the LOTR figs that young kids paint… especially funny on drarfs or the races that fight orks and we all know ork blood and 40k ork blood is black or green!
I realy do like the black and white chequres.
You have the tusks looking great.
Indeed, even some good painters get lured into that trap. Occasionally it turns out ok but in general it detracts from the finished result if it doesn’t ruin it completely.
I’m a bit sick of black and white cheques they’re really a pain to paint.
