Beakies new hands

I got this figure who has a beakie helemet… and he looks great.. but like alot of the figures you get they often are missing thier hands and spear.
So I made some.
There pretty rough.. but they are tatty gloves and anything rough on a orc looks fine.
Everyone should start conversions with orcs… you can get away with faults.

So I drilled the arms and bent some florist wire and Super glued them in, after test fitting of course.

beakies hands

Mixed some hard green stuff and sculpted as well as I could in place.

The polystyrene rod is 1.1mm diameter and works well.
I have tried brass rod and even tooth picks but after shelling out some money on propper Poly rod stock I have to say I love it. And it glues so well too.
Anyway.. about eight years ago I made some weapons parts from DAS (which is very good polymer clay from NZ) I had a tri fork I made roughly and I decided this guy was going to get it.
Total pin to attach… I was going to socket it.. nope that didn’t work. tried wrapping paper sleeve.. nope. In the end it was a big blob of super glue and three windings of copper wire strands.

the ugly attachment

And he looks .. good!
He looks good.

And the figure finished prior to basing material being added and static grass…

Project Mordor

One does not just paint up a Mordor army… it much more torturous than that … so I pulled all my mordor models today and are sorting them so I can paint them all… I had few more than I thought however. In fact enough for 15 bands at least. oh damm that is like 310 minis…

Contemplated selling a heap off.. but then I just can’t do that… so I’m going to pint them up and box them.

So stock take:
Morannon orcs: I have 48 of these. None of them painted. There second last to be painted.
Morannon orcs

Mordor Orcs: 262
Mostly all are standard but some have been converted and need fixing up.
Mordor orcs

Mordor Uruks: 3 plus 5 Uruk hai conversions. so 8.
Mordor uruks

Warg riders: 25 of those. Will paint them last
warg riders

Trolls: 3 one troll chiftan and one mordor troll in the box to be made and one metal one made but to be painted.
troll chieften

Very much like this one

Mordor shaman: 1
like this one

So .. how am I going to do it….

12 figure batches this time… I usually do the whole lot in a production line.. not this time… each batch will have the same skin tone.. so I can mix them up later and they will all look some what different.

Mordor ors have all sorts of skin tones… and most importantly your 40k players… these orcs don’t have bright green skin.. ha ha!
Mordor orc faces
more faces of orcs
the last of the summer wine cast....today

I think this is going to be fun.
plenty of posts to follow.

Orc & Goblin Savage Orc Boar Boyz

These were given as a present two or three years ago.  I painted up the boars and set them aside.  Recently (by which I mean about a month ago maybe a bit more) I painted them.  Like usual, pretty much painted according to the box.  Again my photography skills let the side down a bit, they seem to highlight all the worst aspects and reduce the overall effect.  Still they’re better than any attempt I might make at describing them.  Overall very happy with them particularly their colourful crests.  Oh yeah and one image is tiny because I resized it wrong and overwrote the original.  .
