Skaven Warlock

Skaven Warlock from the Island of Blood Box set.  Painted according to the GW colour scheme (as is usual for me, I’m so creative).  Was pretty straight forward, probably only took me about four hours which for me is speedy.  Pretty happy with the results though perphaps the elven shield under the warlocks foot/paw is a bit bright and sparkly in comparison.  But this is fantasy.

Mounted Wood Elf Spellsinger

Painted pretty early on (when spellsingers were called mages) this was for a long time my best painted model.  Using the GW colour scheme for the model but with a limited palette, like no bleached bone type colour, made for a lot of experimenting.  Still it came out ok even though the skin is a bit dark for an elf.  I really like the model, even quite like my paint job.  For ages it was my only mage in the wood elf army which was kinda problematic as I really didn’t like fielding mounted mages, I still don’t so now days he’s consigned to the cupboard.

Skaven Warlock

As with James I purchased this Skaven Warlock for Tommy when I was in Wellington at some point for a course.  The opportunity to shop at a Games Workshop store which stocked like more than 10 things was quite appealing.  Anyway again as with James this is Tommy’s first Warhammer figure.  It’s probably not that flattering a photo (both this figure and the orc boar boy for James were finished with a gloss varnish since I figured they’d get handled a lot).  It’s quite a detailed figure though it isn’t particularly apparent from this shot.
