Orc & Goblin Savage Orc Boar Boyz

These were given as a present two or three years ago.  I painted up the boars and set them aside.  Recently (by which I mean about a month ago maybe a bit more) I painted them.  Like usual, pretty much painted according to the box.  Again my photography skills let the side down a bit, they seem to highlight all the worst aspects and reduce the overall effect.  Still they’re better than any attempt I might make at describing them.  Overall very happy with them particularly their colourful crests.  Oh yeah and one image is tiny because I resized it wrong and overwrote the original.  .

WIP Greenskins

The following is what I have been working on over the last few evenings in preparation for the games weekend in Invercargill in a weeks time.  Apologies for the poor quality image and lighting.  A number of the models are unbased simply because that takes time and my focus is on getting them painted first.  Also there is a glossy look to them as in the photos they’ve just been overcoated in matt varnish which is still wet.  (I had taken the photos prior to the clear coat but hadn’t used a tripod and they’d come out a bit blurry).  Lastly included are some Skaven weapons teams which I’ve not photographed properly yet but thought I would add them here whilst I had the camera out.

Two Night Goblin Shamans

Gorbad Ironclaw (two)

Finished painting Gorbad, my favourite sculpt from Games-Workshop I think.  Not sure I really did it quite the justice I was hoping for but it certainly passable I think.  Little annoyed with the varnish it seems to have if anything ‘unblended’ some of my work.  I think this was because I used a mixture of blending and shadowing with the shadowing being done with ink.  When I brushed the varnish on it smudged the ink.  Normally I would have probably written this off as a fancy and that I was just imagining things however I had used ink in the checkered pattern on the cheek guards, which when they smudged looked rather obvious on the white.  Anyway I fixed the checks but wasn’t going to try repainting the entire thing so here it is.
