If only Willy could save all these Orcs?

Last weekend I decided to get a wriggle on and get some more figures .. mostly done.

I wanted to do something quick and Orcs seem to be easy to paint.. and they are.

These are not highlighted but seriously some of them don’t need it.

Many have no weapon as these are all second hand figs that I have stripped , re primed and now painted.

There are others that need arms sculpted on and I have decided to do that later… crazy I know.. but I wanted it now…

Anyways… on with he pictures.. as per usual..
Hand weapon and shield warriors group 1

Hand weapon and shield warriors group 2

Spear armed warriors group 3

Two handed weapon warriors group 4

two handed weapon warrior, Spear armed warriors (Spear fixed up by adding a blade so could be a two handed weapon or spear really. The third one needs arms added and weapon as conversion)

These three are really interesting… these are Uruk-Hai. I trimmed off the big engineers helmets and segmented armour to make them look like leather bodice, two of them need weapons added. I may beat some copper wire flat to make crude swords..thats another article.

Flash mob photo…

There you have it 24 Orcs… is that 2 Dozen or a a pod?
Now all I nee is a little Hobbit.. called Willy maybe even…

one eyed Willey … Goonies. One eyed Willey you remember him don't you?

Rohirim charge

I have just finally collected enough figures to create an impressive Rohirim army.

I have been very reluctant to create a Rohirim army that is what alot of other people do.. pretty much a whole bunch of Rohirm on foot.

I have admitedly collected a few footmen in my endevours to get Horse Lords however.

So as I am nearing the completion of my Haradrim cavalry I am soon (read as “have”) started on 26 mounted Rohirim.  That will include 2 Heroes. Probbly need a third for the new source book system of having 1 hero per 10 models.  (I’m still struggling with how that affects a Moria Goblin swarm?)

This will be an interesting task as I am going to ue the airbrush alot. Especially for horses and the Rohirim cloaks and cloths. Mostly as a time saver.

Ther will be some conversion required and alot of repair as these are all 2nd hand models that ostly suffer from missing spears and broken bows.

I will edit in some photos later but ther is a small (read as big ) army amassing from this.

I’m hoping we might try some games over Christmas time if were lucky.

Skaven Warlord

Here is the finished (or almost finished) Skaven Warlock.  It’s the same one that I started in an earlier post and was busy detailing my painting of it step by step.  Obviously that flew out the window after it sat in the cupboard for about a month and I decided that I better just finish it and be done with it.  I’m still annoyed that I tried going down the road of a base coat of gold on the armour, I don’t know what I was trying to achieve.  Took more paint and time to rectify which meant that I have been rather hesitant to do a lot more to the armour as I did not want to obscure any of the detailing that was slowly being painted out.  I haven’t painted on any skaven runes onto the banner yet and the green warpfire is not quite right either, so I like to think that I might go back and finish those bits but realistically I think thats unlikely.  All in all though I think it’s turned out pretty well.  Not one of my best pieces but then certainly not one of my worst.
